Book Description A sequel to the popular Mujerista Theology that explores themes relevant to the lives of Hispanic women and their spirituality.
“Just as God had to create us in order to fulfill the God-self, so personal self-fulfillment means embracing God’s love for each of us. This love makes each of us infinitely valuable and able to live fruitful lives by contributing to the happiness of others and to justice and peace in our world at large. The love of God, like all true love, is reciprocal. This is what spirituality is, our relationship with God, a concrete relationship that becomes reality in our love for one another. Spirituality is our love for God that calls us to engage each other, to share ourselves with each other.”
—Ada María Isasi-Díaz from the book
Mujerista theology begins with personal experience and moves toward a theology that advances the dignity and liberation of all Hispanic/Latino women. This collection of essays combining personal narratives and theological discourse brings together important insights into the concerns of Hispanic women, the ways in which they can shape theology, and the roles they can take on in the church.
Ada María Isasi-Díaz, a professor of theology and ethics at The Theological School, Drew University, is author of many articles and books, including Mujerista Theology and En La Lucha: A Hispanic Women’s Liberation Theology.
